Course Description This American Heart Association BLS CPR for Healthcare Providers Course teaches the skills of CPR for victims of all ages including ventilation with a barrier device, a bag-mask device, use of an AED on adults and children and relief of foreign body obstruction in responsive and non responsive victims. The course is designed for healthcare providers who care for patients in a wide variety of settings, both in and out of hospital. Intended Audience: Physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, physical therapist, physician assistants, medical assistants, medical students, residents, pharmacists, nursing students, nursing assistants, dentists, dental assistants, EMT’s, paramedics, lifeguards, and other healthcare personnel. Initial course: Participants for this course would be first time students. Renewal course: Participants requiring recertification and holding a current BLC. Course Length: 4 hours. BLS materials: Materials will be provided in the classroom. If you have a textbook you can bring it to class. Card Type: American Heart Association Provided CPR/AED course completion card will be provided after successful completion of the course. The card is valid for 2 years. Written/Skills Exam: Required for successful completion of this course. |
